Green Build Officer – Diane Hubbard
Diane has organised the Cumbria Green Build Festival for the last two years. The Festival consists of around 60 events over a fortnight period, with the involvement a broad range of Cumbrian businesses, community organisations and individuals.
In 2010, she has introduced the highly successful Cumbria Green Build Professional Programme, which aims to address the need for knowledge by Cumbrian construction industry professionals in this field, with a programme of at least 4 one-day events per annum and events being endorsed by bodies such as RIBA, FMB and AECB.
In terms of technical background, Diane is a mechanical engineer and has recently completed an MSc at the Centre for Alternative Energy. Her specialist field is ventilation and moisture in traditional dwellings, with further academic research continuing during Winter 2010/11 as part of the team investigating the energy efficiency of listed dwellings (commissioned by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB)).
Through her consultancy, Green Footsteps, Diane’s professional work includes home energy audits, air permeability investigations and related projects, such as a recent evening course on understanding your traditional home.
CAfS also works with several valued self employed staff and local consultants to deliver their projects.
