Welcome to the Cumbria Green Build Training Programme, a project run by local charity Cumbria Action for Sustainability.

The project aims to raise awareness of the opportunities for all of us to create a more sustainable future in Cumbria through the clever use of our buildings, through prudent energy use and low carbon energy generation.

We do this through a packed events and training programme including our flagship Cumbria Green Build Festival. The Festival demonstates some of the best renewable energy installations in the county – PVs, solar hot water , biomass, air source and ground source heat pumps, hydro, wind, and also looks at energy efficiency through insulation, testing airtightness and air permeability, waste water and anerobic digestion.

Through all of our work we aim to take the jargon out, put the practicality in and promote local solutions. So, if you are interested in generating your own power or heat, or insulating your home, you are in the right place.

Browse our website to see our current projects and download useful resources.

Sign up to our supporter newsletter to keep up to date with our news and forthcoming events and training.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

This project is part financed by the European Union, through a partnership with Impact Housing’s Green Ways to Work programme and the European Social Fund (ESF).

ESF in England is investing in jobs and skills – transforming lives through better skills and better job prospects.
